Twitter is one of my favorite social networking sites! I don't even know why but I guess because it is a short amount of useful information. I have a personal Twitter that I use and follow Dr. Oz, Jim Carrey, and Journeys (company I use to work for). I just like short and sweet updates on what is going on in our people's worlds. Some businesses (for example, Journeys) like to post new exclusive deasl to their followers! It is really neat. I think libraries could really use Twitter to send updates about upcoming speakers, important dates, etc. The only downside to Twitter is that the audience is limited. Most people who have Twitter have a smartphone. If someone doesn't have an iPhone or Droid, they might not have or use Twitter at all.

Picture sharing is a great way for people who might not live near each other to share memories. Having all of my family live in Michigan, I understand the importance of staying connected. Being able to share pictures of events that I might miss (birthdays, holidays, etc.) is a really great way to still feel apart of something despite the distance. Waterloo Public Library and the University of Texas Health Science Center had some pretty good Flickrs. I liked how they had their photographs in different folders. I felt this was an efficent way to view things because instead of looking through all of them, I only looked at what interested me. Personally, I have only used Photobucket but I would definitely use other sites (if they are free).  I love picture sharing!

I like RSS Feeds! Sometimes I will check a website and it feels like no new information was added. Having all my favorite links stored at the top makes it easy, not only to access, but to also know when new posts have been made. They are an easy tool for everyone to use!

I have just finished with the Google Reader. It is neat to learn something new but I personally would not use it. Yes, it does save time but viewing all blogs on one site with no personalization is boring. I like going to each individual's blog to look at their background or layout. Some blogs even feature music which (ocassionally) is nice. I could see Google Reader being useful in a library setting or even a news center.

Hello, fellow bloggers!

I am familiar with blogging, however, this is my first time using Blogger. The set-up was very simple. Not being able to really customize the blog how I wanted was a bit of a bummer.

I am currently sitting at the museum getting ready to rock these 23 things! Let's do this!!!
